Mason Keel

Youth Learning Programs Facilitator

Growing up in Basking Ridge, NJ, Mason was first introduced to teaching through instructing tennis for summer camps, clubs, as private lessons. His first experience with formal teaching came as a student at Lafayette College on a school-sponsored trip to Madagascar to teach in a high school between semesters. After graduating with a BS in Biology, Mason worked at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center in Lanesboro, MN learning about outdoor and experiential education, facilitating static high ropes and dynamic rock walls experiences, as well as team initiatives and low elements. While there, he also began writing environmental curricula and completed a Masters in Environmental Education and Natural Science from Hamline University. Besides spending time with his lovely black cat Leela, he enjoys playing tennis and occasionally pickleball, playing board games, birding, backpacking, and sinking into the couch. Mason’s favorite part about adventure is the adrenaline rush that comes from challenging yourself and the pride you feel once your heart rate settles and you can reflect on the experience.
