Caitlin McCormick Small

Caitlin took the helm of Project Adventure in 2020 after serving for a year as the Director of SEL. She grew up in Massachusetts and attended Sarah Lawrence College, then received an M.A. of English from Bar-Ilan University and an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts. Her professional focus has been how the collaboration of schools and community organizations can transform the education sector for better whole-child outcomes. Her work experiences have been in youth development, curriculum design, preventative mental health, social-emotional learning, and training/facilitation. She is a self-proclaimed theory nerd and loves to integrate change management, systems thinking, and human development into her leadership. Before Project Adventure she worked at The PEAR Institute of McLean Hospital, the City of Cambridge’s Agenda for Children, and East End House in Cambridge. She lives in Gloucester, MA and enjoys hiking, reading, gardening, and sailing with her husband.
