The Doris Prouty Scholarship Fund

The Doris Prouty Scholarship Fund supports people of color to access training in adventure education.

The Fund, provided by the Doris Prouty Foundation, supports professionals of color to experience learning opportunities with Project Adventure at no cost. To qualify, applicants must work or be a student in adventure, education, mental health, social justice, the arts, or a related field, and identify as a person of color.

Doris Prouty was a local artist, early childhood educator, and believer in social justice. Doris helped people to learn, play, heal, and do great things, to be themselves and to connect with each other. Her husband, Dick Prouty, was the Director of Project Adventure for more than 30 years.

Qualified applicants:

  • Work or are a student in adventure, education, mental health, social justice, the arts, or a related field

  • Identify as American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Middle Eastern or North African, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, Hispanic, or Latino

Funds may be used for:

  • Tuition fees for a Project Adventure workshop, webinar, or training - see www.workshops.pa.org for all options

  • Registration fees for special learning events such as the SEL Symposium, Summer Institute, or similar
