Graduate Credit 

For professional learners looking to earn graduate credit, Project Adventure has relationships with Plymouth State University (PSU) and Salem State University. These schools award graduate credit for selected full-length PA workshops. 

Non-degree students may take PA workshops for up to 12 credits from PSU for an additional per credit fee before PSU requires enrollment in a degree program.   

For those interested in obtaining a graduate degree, Plymouth State University (PSU) and Salem State University (SSU) offer several graduate degree options in partnership with Project Adventure:

Master of Education (M.Ed) in Experiential Learning & Development:

This 34-credit degree from Plymouth State University is designed for students who are currently working in outdoor adventure education or a related field of experiential learning. This distance learning program does not require students to complete coursework on the Plymouth, NH campus. The program allows students to complete five online courses and a Capstone Project through PSU. The remaining 16 credits are earned by taking Project Adventure workshops  and completing the required work after each workshop.  There is a separate per credit fee associated with the graduate credits made payable to PSU.

Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Physical Education with a concentration in Adventure Education: 

This 34-credit degree from Plymouth State University is designed for students who are currently working in an adventure education field.  This distance learning program does not require students to complete coursework on the Plymouth, NH campus.  The program allows students to complete three online core courses and a Capstone Project through PSU. The remaining 19 credit requirements can be fulfilled by attending Project Adventure workshops and completing the required work after each workshop. There is a separate per credit fee associated with the graduate credits made payable to PSU.

Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Leadership in Physical Education & Movement Studies 

This 33-credit degree program from Salem State University focuses on leadership, offering coursework to better equip professionals to emerge as leaders in the field.  In addition to the core requirements and 6 elective credits, students will select a focus area consisting of 12 credits of in-depth study in a specific area of the discipline, one of which is Adventure Education; the credits in this area are earned directly through Project Adventure workshops. If applicable, students in this program will have access to the coursework necessary to become eligible for a professional license in physical education.

PDPs 

Professional Development Points (PDPs) 

Project Adventure is an approved High-Quality Professional Development (HQPD) provider through the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE). As a registered provider, Project Adventure offers Professional Development Points (PDPs) to participants who teach in Massachusetts, for selected Project Adventure workshops.  PDPs are awarded after participating in a workshop and writing a reflection that demonstrates mastery in the workshop's learning goals. Submission of the written reflection must be submitted within 30 days after the workshop takes place and there is an additional fee for the PDPs. Please email registration@pa.org for more information.
