Model Programs: Seeing is Believing!
Rainbow Lake, a State of Georgia-accredited educational and
treatment facility, is directed by PA senior consultant Cindy
Simpson. At this site, you can observe our models which are free
of physical restraints or interventions and instead depend on the
core components of Project Adventure's Behavior Management
through Adventure model.
In operation since 1981, these programs have grown from serving middle and high school students in an alternative school
setting to a residential treatment service for youth.
Agencies, alternative schools and treatment programs nationally have infused their behavior management
programs with Project Adventure's Behavior Management through Adventure methodology. Other programs
have worked with Project Adventure to replicate our programs within their agencies.

to reintegrate the clients successfully into the community. All c

County Public School system.

Rainbow Lake School
Rainbow Lake School is a community effort between Project
Adventure, Newton County Schools and Newton County Juvenile

family, and community as a whole.
Project Decision
Project Decision is an active alternative to out-of-school
suspension currently operating in Newton County. Project
Decision provides an appropriate consequence for unacceptable
school behavior, along with a supportive and structured

Transitional Assessment Center (TAC)
Transitional Assessment Center (TAC) is Project Adventure's
newest program. It is a residential assessment program for youth
and their families involved with the Juvenile Courts and/or the
Department of Family and Children Services. It is a licensed
community-based program for a minimum of 30 days. The key
component of the program is to assess the individual's behavioral,
academic, social, and psychological needs and the needs of their
families. Through this assessment a placement recommendation
is forwarded to the local Juvenile Court and/or the Department of
Family and Children Services. These recommendations may
include but are not limited to the youth being placed back at
home, a group home, foster care, therapeutic foster care, a
residential treatment program, hospitalization or a detention
center.
