Getting Started

How to Implement Adventure in Your Treatment Agency

Getting started begins with an idea and the commitment to develop a quality program for your clients. The following steps are simply a guideline. Call us 1-800-468-8898 at any time so that we can answer your questions.

Step One Needs Assessment

Helps you to utilize your physical, fiscal, and human resources most effectively.

A needs assessment can occur in a phone call or in a full day of consultation with your team of teachers and administrators. The following questions exemplify the types of issues that will be explored in a needs assessment:

  • What are the goals and objectives of your program?
  • Do you have an existing Adventure program at your agency?
  • Does your program involve a challenge course? If so, how is it used and in what grades?
  • Given your goals and your existing program, what gap will Adventure fill?
  • Who are the critical stakeholders necessary to implement a program?
  • If your program is new, what design will best meet the program objectives?
  • Do any of your staff have PA training?
  • Do you have a funding source or do you need some consultation on this?
