Adventures in Low Elements

Who should attend?

Physical Educators, school counselors, teachers, community agency staff, camp staff, human service and recreation professionals or anyone who wants to learn or enhance facilitation skills on low challenge course elements.  This workshop is designed for professionals who are new to adventure and want to focus on low challenge course elements.

You will:

  • Learn basic facilitation skills for ground and low challenge course elements.
  • Gain knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (safety guidelines) and creative variations for facilitating low elements.
  • Experience warm up games, problem-solving initiatives, trust activities, in addition to low elements.
  • Be introduced to sequencing, framing and debriefing techniques for a variety of activity types.
  • Be able to implement an effective and fun adventure program using portable games, initiatives, and the low challenge course elements.

This three-day workshop begins at 9:00 A.M. the first day and ends by 5:00 P.M. the final day. Registration begins at 8:30 A.M. the first day.

Graduate credit: 2 or 4
CEUs: 2.4
