Skill Focus: Other

Who should attend?

This certification is designed for program directors, course managers and others who have program management responsibilities. Candidates must have completed and hold current Level 2 certification to be eligible for Challenge Course Manager (CCM) Certification. Candidates must be able to document a minimum of 14 days of training and 200 program days of challenge course facilitation experience.

The Program Includes:

  • Comprehensive written testing.
  • Practical competency testing (based on Chapter 3, Section A of the ACCT Operations Standards.)
  • This certification will last for 5 years.

This one-day test begins at 9 A.M. and ends by 2 P.M. Registration begins at 8:30 A.M.

Prerequisites: Must be at least 21 years or older. Must possess a Level 2 certification. Prior completion of Adventure Program Management: Critical Knowledge for the Challenge Course Manager is also required. Interested candidates must complete an application that documents prior training and program facilitation history which will be used to determine admission to the program. Candidates may also be asked to submit supporting documents such as Local Operating Procedures, staff manual etc., as part of the testing process.

*Please note: Not all programs need a Certified Challenge Course Manager. Depending upon the size and scope of one's program these responsibilities may be incorporated to the degree necessary within a Level 2 certification. Certification testing is not a traditional Project Adventure workshop. There is no review or teaching component included, therefore, professional development credit (PDPs, CEUs, Graduate Credit) is not available. Participants are expected to come prepared for written and practical tests.
