Categories: Technical Workshops
Skill Focus: Other

Who should attend?

This entry-level certification is offered to individuals who have completed 7 days or 70 hours of training and have demonstrated competence in basic program knowledge and technical skills.  Candidates must also be able to document a minimum of 25 challenge course program facilitation days.  Level 1 is designed for individuals who operate standard introductory activities, low challenge course activities and initiatives and standard high challenge course activities.

Program includes:

  • Written and practical competency testing.
  • This certification will last for 1 year.

This one-day test begins at 9 A.M. and ends by 5 P.M. Registration begins at 8:30 A.M.

Prerequisites:  Must be at least 18 years or older.  Prior recommended workshops include Adventure Programming or Adventure Based Counseling or equivalency, and Technical Skills Intensive.  Interested candidates must complete an application that documents prior training and program facilitation history, which will be used to determine admission to the program.

Skills audit and verification consulting is a great alternative to individual certification.  This session, held at your site on your challenge course is ideal for program managers and directors to be able to validate the skill level of staff.  Call 1-800-468-8898 x4554 or email akrimm@pa.org for more info.

*Please note: Certification testing is not a traditional Project Adventure workshop. There is no review or teaching component included, therefore, professional development credit (PDPs, CEUs, Graduate Credit) is not available. Participants are expected to come prepared for written and practical tests.

Tuition: $150
