Plymouth State University

Graduate Credit / Continuing Education

Plymouth State University (PSU) and Salem State University (SSU) both support professionals in taking Project Adventure workshops for graduate credit.  Non-degree status students may take PA workshops for up to 12 credits from PSU and up to 9 credits from SSU before requiring enrollment in a degree program.

Plymouth State University (PSU) and Salem State University (SSU) offer working professionals several graduate degree options in partnership with Project Adventure.

Master of Education (M.Ed) in Experiential Learning & Development

This 34-credit degree from Plymouth State University is designed for students who are currently working in outdoor adventure education or a related field of experiential learning. This distance learning program does not require students to complete coursework on the Plymouth, NH campus. The program allows students to complete five online courses and a Capstone Project through PSU. The remaining 16 credits are earned by taking Project Adventure workshops and completing the required work after each workshop.

Master of Education (M.Ed) in Physical Education with a concentration in Adventure Education

This 34-credit degree from Plymouth State University is designed for students who are currently working in an adventure education field.  This distance learning program does not require students to complete coursework on the Plymouth, NH campus.  The program allows students to complete three online core courses and a Capstone Project through PSU. The remaining 19 credit requirements can be fulfilled by attending Project Adventure workshops and completing the required work after each workshop.

Salem State University

Master of Education (M.Ed) in Leadership in Physical Education & Movement Studies

This 33-credit degree program from Salem State University focuses on leadership, offering coursework to better equip professionals to emerge as leaders in the field.  In addition to the core requirements and 6 elective credits, students will select a focus area consisting of 12 credits of in-depth study in a specific area of the discipline, one of which is Adventure Education; the credits in this area are earned directly through Project Adventure workshops. If applicable, students in this program will have access to the coursework necessary to become eligible for a professional license in physical education.
