Culinary/ Kitchen Management Internship
Description:
The Culinary/ Kitchen Management Internship is most appropriate for those who have an interest in gaining experience in food service and management. At Project Adventure’s Moraine Farm Conference Center, located on a beautiful property in North Beverly, MA, interns will learn about proper sanitation, food safety, and preparation, while catering to a diversity of dietary restrictions. Individuals will also learn about cost effective menu planning as well as maintaining a rotating kitchen cleaning schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Help with meal preparation, cooking and clean up
- Maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen and appliances
- Assist with menu planning for 10-50 people buffet and family style
- Determine food costs per menu based on current pricing
- Invent creative ways to tastefully fulfill dietary restrictions
NOTE: Responsibilities will vary based on intern’s skill level, area of interest and the current needs of Project Adventure staff.
Qualifications:
- Organizational and communication skills
- Independent and responsible worker
- Some experience with kitchen equipment
- Creativity and efficiency helpful
- Comfortable with long hours and fast-paced environment
