Why Choose PA as your Challenge Course vendor?

Designing and Engineering Program Solutions

We are the originators! PA staff has installed thousands of courses, in all 50 states, and over 20 countries around the world. Employing all of the technology that we have developed in the past 33 years, we create breakthrough challenge course designs for our clients. The combination of a superior challenge course with a superlative program design makes our product unparalleled.

Many companies build challenge courses . . .
We build cutting-edge Adventure programs,
33 years and counting . . .

The best challenge course is not necessarily the largest, the flashiest, or even the most expensive. The best courses, and more importantly the best programs, are designed to meet the educational needs of the participant groups. This is where Project Adventure's experience can provide the most value-building courses that are closely aligned with the educational goals of your program.

We have developed solutions for:

  • Limited outdoor space
  • Unique or limited indoor beam structures
  • Challenging terrain
  • Difficult or limited tree selection
  • Multi-year design and build phases
  • Program challenges that require new element and equipment designs

Commitment to Quality

Project Adventure's commitment to quality is reflected in the following:

  • Project Adventure has researched and published the leading longitudinal study on challenge course safety in the field (PA's 20 Year Safety Study, 1995).
  • Project Adventure is the only Adventure organization that is both accredited through the Association for Experiential Education (AEE) and is a Professional Vendor Member (PVM) of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).
  • Project Adventure has a risk management program directed by a full-time Risk Manager supported by contract engineers and a Risk Management Committee comprised of installation, technical training and program delivery specialists. All new elements and construction designs are subject to review by this team.
  • Challenge course installation and inspection staff participate in regular competency-based training and reviews.
  • Through the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT), Project Adventure staff have played leadership roles in developing the national standards for challenge course programs. PA staff have served in a variety of roles including: the Board of Directors, the Installation Standards Committee, the Operations Standards Committee, the Trustee Board, the Certification Standards Committee, the Ethics Committee, and the Review Committee.

Innovation

Our goal as the leading Adventure Education organization is to continue this pattern of product improvement and innovation. In the last few years alone our designers, installers and collaborative partners have created these new and innovative elements: Quadrophenia, Go 4 It, Space Station, Tandem Zip Wire, Helix Tower, Freestanding Wall, Wallenda Walk, Islands-in-the-Sky, Matrix, Step of Faith, Swingshot, Kunz' Konundrum and Jordan's Crossing.

We consider it a compliment that many of our competitors offer these Project Adventure-developed elements in their lines: Pamper Pole, Portable Pamper Pole, Pamper Plank, Dangle Duo and Trio, Multivine Traverse, Jeebie Lunge, Centipede, Vertical Playpen, Tired Two Line, Wilder Woosey, Mohawk Walk, Prouty's Landing, Disc Jockeys, Hickory Jump, Criss Cross, Seagull Swing and Whale Watch.

Developing and delivering new products has been a hallmark of Project Adventure since we began building challenge courses 33 years ago. We are proud of our creative achievements. Our active R&D program has developed products that include a line of belay pulleys (K-1, K-2) and a shear reduction device (Klinesaver) that are widely recognized as the best in the industry. More recently, climbing equipment such as the LEAP Anchor, mechanical advantage and lift systems for accessibility and the SAFER Lanyard have been designed and brought to the market.
