Profiles of Recent Corporate Client Programs

Eastman Kodak Company

During the past seven years Project Adventure and Eastman Kodak Company have developed a customer vendor partnership, collaboratively designing and delivering several innovative Adventure based employee training models. These programs have included more than a thousand Kodak staff.

In 1995, PA began to deliver a program developed within Kodak called Headed for the Future. This three-day program focused on the effective development of natural work teams. This team development work continues to be supported within Kodak today. At the same time, PA and Kodak developed and implemented a staff training program called Coaching for Empowered Teams. This particular program was geared primarily to first-line supervisors. The Coaching for Empowered Teams model, modified twice in subsequent years, evolved into a balanced program offering both team and individual performance coaching skills development.

In addition, Project Adventure has worked with Kodak to develop programs that enabled employees (both line staff and senior managers) to learn how to better work in a values-based organization.

Nintendo of America

The Information Systems Division of Nintendo of America (NOA) contracted with PA to provide a leadership development and team building experience for managers as well as a comprehensive program focused on forming the consensual behavioral norms required to create a healthy organization. The series of trainings took place over a six-month period (in one to four day increments), culminating in a one-day closure meeting with all 110-division personnel. Working closely with internal HR and management staff, PA was able to closely relate off-site experiences directly back to the workplace for immediate transfer.

Diversity Awareness
Project Adventure designed and delivered a diversity awareness program for Nintendo of America to all 4000 HQ staff. The program was focused on increasing the awareness and tolerance within the company for people from diverse ethnic, religious, family, and social backgrounds.

BMW of North America, Inc.

Over 1400 BMW dealer principals and managers attended three five-day off-site workshops at six locations around the United States. These trainings were designed to elicit commitment from dealership senior management to a new company-wide customer service program. Delivered in partnership with BMW, the interactive program focused management teams on clarifying their vision and values, the powerful correlation between customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and best practices, the strength of understanding and valuing behavioral styles and the benefits of working as a team for management, employees and customers.

Royal Dutch Shell

Project Adventure, Inc. was selected as the training vendor to provide a series of team development trainings with all managers in Nigeria. Each training module was three days long and involved a total of 300 local managers. Six PA trainers spent a total of four months in Port Harcourt, Nigeria delivering this program.

Since 1999, we have begun to deliver a series of train-the trainer programs with internal trainers who are working with Shell's Group Leadership and Performance Operation in The Hague. Program modules concern leadership development and high performing teamwork. Participants are involved from throughout Europe and Asia.

Starbucks Coffee Company

Specialty Sales
In order to position the Specialty Sales team for success, Starbucks contracted with PA to design and lead a three-day event for Senior Management to develop norms for staff interaction as well as an exploration of leadership strengths and weaknesses. The event, which took place at a conference center, utilized portable, low and high Adventure challenge course elements, in addition to traditional training tools such as the DiSC Profile.

Sales Operations
In managing the multiple complexities of the operational side of the sales function during Starbucks exponential growth of recent years, the Sales Ops team hired PA to deliver a multi-day training designed to improve their internal communication processes and to increase their respective appreciation of different work styles. An exploration of internal customer-supplier chains was also explored via an experiential activity.

"We selected the Project Adventure team to install our challenge course in Magliesburg for two reasons. They only built the safest, most durable and most well thought-out courses, but they also offered a full range of services such as course design, program design, trainer training and installation. We have been extremely satisfied with the course layout, design and overall quality."
