Project Adventure:
What is Adventure?
Adventure is an approach, a way of doing; it is not a particular activity in and of itself. A class becomes an adventure when there is an element of surprise – when activities compel participants into doing things they never imagined possible. Adventure is about taking risks in an atmosphere of safety and fun. Adventure creates engagement from experiences that are personal, unique and relevant. These experiences can take place in a gymnasium, boardroom, classroom or park without ever opening a parachute or scaling a cliff!
"I had a blast! I have participated in lots of teambuilding and icebreaker type activities in my lifetime, so it was nice to experience new, totally different types of activities that were fun, thought-provoking AND provided a workout."
Val Huenniger
Adapted PE Teacher, Las Vegas, NV
"Building camaraderie and vision in our department was a by-product of the training. It was exciting to learn new ideas as a unit."
Workshop Participant, South Central LA
