Association for Challenge Course TechnologyAssociation for Experiential Education (AEE)Course InspectionThe Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) requires that challenge courses receive an annual inspection by a qualified vendor. Project Adventure Course Inspections evaluate the condition of your course elements and equipment and make recommendations to improve and maintain accordingly. All inspections are done by a trained PA inspector and are designed to comply with ACCT standards. A written report is submitted to your organization following the inspection. This training can be held at a site designated by you or at one of our sites. Desired Results: The overarching understandings and basic information students should know, as well as skills they should be able to use, as the result of a given program; these take into account the developmental needs of students of differing ages and are clearly identified in the curriculum. Evaluation: The process of judging the quality, value or worth of a program or student performance based upon established criteria, using the data gathered in assessment. Learning Outcomes: The specific information or skills that are the focus of student learning during a given lesson. Lesson: A part of a unit, generally presented in one or two days. Unit: A part of a curriculum with one particular focus InitiativesIntentionally-designed activities that include a task and a specific objective for groups. Skilled facilitators use initiatives with groups to achieve goals and objectives, to develop communication and problem-solving skills and to observe the elements of group process and determine next steps. Needs assessmentThe process of gathering data and information which will shape and inform challenge course design, training agenda and outcomes or a full programmatic implementation. Performing a needs assessment will help you to achieve your goals effectively and efficiently. Open Enrollment trainingThis term refers to trainings that are offered for individuals. You can see a full list of our open-enrollment trainings. One of the benefits of taking an open enrollment training is that you can meet and network with people from all over the country and the world. Portable AdventureAdventure does not only happen on a challenge course. A facilitator, educator or counselor who has had appropriate training can create Adventure experiences in a field, classroom, cafeteria or boardroom with a just a few props. Site EvaluationPrior to a Challenge Course installation, a PA installation specialist may need to visit your site to assess the physical resources available. An evaluation is especially important if you are considering an installation in trees, in a gymnasium or in an area with uneven terrain. A PA Sales Specialist will help determine the need for this visit. |
